George, and Now John

A quick update  on the Monarchs. George is doing fine, and is pretty clearly in second instar. 

On the same milkweed, we found a second. We named him John. We decided, in the hopes of finding a number of caterpillars, that each cluster of milkweed would get its own mnemonic cluster. This first will be the Beatles. 

And we are now likely to have a second brood to watch for, as another female Monarch came through two days ago and apparently was also laying a few eggs!
